New Adventures

I've been looking for something to do to earn a little extra money. My little sister came across this idea of selling homemade rug. She started this adventure by crocheting the back of the rug and hand tying each strip on. This was fun but I could not turn them out as fast as I wanted. So I tested my idea of sewing the strips onto a canvas backing. This was a bit quicker for me but also made it so it was a project I could only do at home :( But the rugs turn out so beautiful I decided to give it ago.  So for the past several months I have be pouring all my extra time and heart into my new Etsy Shop. I love taking the old shirts I find and turning them in to works of art!

My First Rug

This purple rug was my first custom order and was a great learning experience. So soft and fluffy after making it I thought my kids would never let it go.

My next rug was a Jean Pocket rug that sold straight from my store.

What a beautifully simple rug.
Next came another custom the largest I have made so far a 4x6 and I think that is as large as I want to go with making them it was fun but it too for ever to make :)

This rug was so beautiful Part of me secretly wanted the lady to not like it and to send it back :) But the other part of me was so excited that she loved it as much as Jonathan and I did.

Make these rug is not an easy project it is actually quite time consuming :) But I guess since I have taken a break from classes this semester I needed some to fill my extra time. Because not only do I have extra time form not going to school but I also have extra time because it's just me and the baby home most of the weekdays now. The 2 older kids are in school full time and Wyatt goes everyday half a day and Benjamin he's going half day 2 times a week. It's really crazy how fast the kids grow up. I'm glad that I am able to be a stay at home Mom so I can be here for them when they get home from school and also so I don't have to send any of the to day care.
